Before you start learning adverbs of degree i suggest you to first understand What is an adverb? and if you know already what it is? or have a basic idea then its fine to continue ok !!! The formal definition which is "It expresses the extent or degree of something"
Now what does it means? lets say i am in hotel and seeing everything and meanwhile i get the call from my friend and he is asking well Mr.Naveed tell me how good the hotel is ? so in order to explain him the quality of the hotel means either its ( Normal ) or ( nice ) or ( good ) or(more than good ) i use adverbs of degree like i will say to my friend "ohh !!! Ali the hotel is very nice"

So in this example very is explaining or telling Ali that The Hotel is not just normal or ordinary it is very special so in easy words we can that whenever we need to show or tell others how special the thing is we use adverbs of degree and for your better understanding i am giving you one more example with picture

Usages Explanation:

  • According to need:
  • | Let's say someone is playing cricket and he is not a good cricketer . you a are commentator and suddenly he hit six so in this caMeans Lets say I need half glass of water and someone is asking me - > Mr. Naveed do you need more water ? i will no because (I need half glass of water and i have half glass of water ) so in order to tell this we use Enough Like - " I Have enough water " |
  • One More Example:
  • Lets Say you need one liter petrol to reach your home and in your car you have one liter petrol so in order to show this you will use enough Like - > I have enough petrol in my car

  • Something more than need and we it in a negative sense:
  • | Means Lets say i need one plate of food but someone is forcing me to take one plate more so this is more (Means More than i need) and this bad for my health as well " |
  • Second Example:
  • | Lets say my doctor suggest me to take 6 glass of water but iam taking 10 glass of water so this is more than my body needs and my doctor knows what is good for my body so this negative thing can do something bad with my body - so whenever we have these two case (1) More than need (2) in negative sense we will use too ) " |
