Definition:
The Definition / Meaning Is - An Action Started in the PrePast and finished in the Past
Definition - Explaination:
You must be confused and thinking what does it mean Action Started in the PrePast and finished in the Past !!! well don't worry when iam teaching. this defintion is very easy to understand and to make you understand i have one example for you which will clear your all confusions - Example No1:
" The Guests had started eating Before the couple came "
For your better understanding i have spilt this sentence into two parts Past Participle ← "The Guests had started eating" Past Indefinite Tense ← "Before the couple came"
Right now (In this current movement ) iam at home and talking with my mom about the wedding ceremony of my friend that "Do you know mom The Guests had started eating
Before the couple came - "So its means the couple came arrived is past but the "The Guests had started eating"
this action (which in this case is eating) happened before the past so this is past pefect tenseExample No 2: "It had started raining before i opened my umbrella"Let's say i was on the way of my home and suddenly i see the dark clouds and i soon realise it is about to rain - so i open my bag but the rain started Before i opened my umbrella
- so its means the action (which is this case rain started this is prepast ) before i open my umbrella Example No 3: "The train had gone before i arrived" -
Let's say i wanted to go to london through train my timing was 6:30pm
and i reach there at 6:34 now iam waiting at the station and talking to my brother that i was in traffic therefore before i reached to station
the trained had gone ok!!! so in this case the action (which is Train Gone) (Prepast)
happened before i arrived (Past)
